Hotel Cabo de Hornos

Environmental Care

We continuously innovate in our operations, seeking new and better solutions to care for our surroundings. During their stay, our guests can choose from the following sustainable practices:

Purified Water Dispensers

We provide purified water dispensers and reusable bottles for guest use. Visitors can enjoy water within the hotel or refill their personal bottles before heading out on excursions. Thanks to this initiative, we have eliminated single-use plastic bottles.

To put it into perspective: in 2024, we hosted 48,000 guests. If we had continued offering two plastic bottles per guest (as we used to), that would amount to more than 100,000 plastic bottles eliminated each year.

Digital Experience

We offer guests a fully digital experience through tools such as QR codes to access our restaurant menu and our Digital Concierge—a complete guide that includes instructions for in-room amenities, local activities, and gastronomic recommendations. This initiative has allowed us to drastically reduce paper usage.

Amenities

We use eco-friendly, biodegradable products presented in refillable containers to reduce plastic use. This initiative avoids the need for single-use plastic bottles, which once totaled up to 15,000 units per year—now completely eliminated from our operations.

LED Lighting

We are working to minimize energy consumption with a smart LED lighting system connected to the energy saver available in each room. This system provides the same lighting efficiency while reducing energy use. Considering that the lifespan of a single LED bulb equals that of 10 traditional bulbs, the environmental benefit is significant.

In-House Laundry

We handle all hotel linens in our own laundry facility, where we wash them every three nights of stay instead of daily. We also use biodegradable, environmentally friendly products to further reduce our ecological footprint.
